THE COLUMBUS MARKETPLACE IS OPEN TO THE TRADE ONLY. NEW BUYERS MUST PRESENT BUSINESS CREDENTIALS ON SITE TO REGISTER FOR ANY SHOW.

You may register on line at www.thecolumbusmarketplace.com, via fax (614-339-5101) or on site at any market. On site registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. You will be required to bring the following business credentials to market if:

  • You have registered on line (credentials must be presented along with your email confirmation)

  • You are self registering at market.

If you register via fax you may include the required documents at that time. You will still need to present your photo I. D. at market to get your badge. Due to volume fax registrations are not processed if received later than 5 days before any market.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY!

The following business credentials are required to register for any Columbus MarketPlace show. Once registered your badge is good for one calendar year, you will however be asked to show your photo I. D. with your badge whenever you enter the MarketPlace.

RETAIL/COMMERCIALLY LOCATED BUSINESS

All of the following are required to be presented for registration:

  1.  Photo I.D.
  2.  Company Vendors License (State Tax Resale Certificate)
  3.  Imprinted Business Check, Corporate Credit Card or Business Debit Card
  4. One of the following pieces of business identification:
    • Trade Publication advertisement
    • Appropriate Yellow Pages listing
    • Four recent wholesale invoices for gift related purchases
    • Store/Commercial lease indicating type of business as retail
  5. One of the following pieces of employment identification:
    • Copy of cancelled company payroll check or payroll stub
    • Personalized, imprinted business card
    • Copy of W-2 form
    • Copy of company credit card with employee and company name

 

INTERIOR DESIGNERS

Interior Designers qualify for admittance by presenting all of the following:

  1. Professional membership card with recognized professional afiiliation and valid government issued photo ID 
    OR Qualify as a retail or commercially located business as provided above
  2. One of the following:
    • Four recent wholesale Invoices for gift or interior related purchases
    • Company credit card or business check with company name
    • Appropriate "Yellow Pages" listing

 

NON-RETAIL/HOME-BASED BUSINESS

Home-based businesses are required to present ALL of the following:

  1. Photo ID
  2. Personalized Business ID (business card or cancelled payroll check)
  3. Current Company Vendors License (State Tax Certificate) Will not accept in personal name.
  4. Imprinted business check in the company name, personal checks not accepted
  5. Copies of current year invoices showing at least $2,000 in wholesale purchases from manufacturers represented in The Columbus MarketPlace OR other wholesale merchandise marts.

 

HOSPITAL GIFT SHOP/CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS

  1. Hospital Photo I.D. /Photo I. D.
  2. Letter on hospital or charitable organizations letterhead indicating you are authorized to purchase on behalf of the business.
  3. Current Vendors License (State Tax Resale Certificate) or Non Profit Tax Exempt Form .

 

GUESTS

A guest is only permitted on a one-day pass and must be accompanied by a registered buyer. Guests are limited to one per buyer. There is a $10.00 daily fee for guests.
If you are new to the buying experience please bring the following with you to market:

  • Copies of credit sheets/references to establish credit with manufacturers
  • Business checks or credit cards with the business name imprinted on them
  • Current address and billing information
